You may have heard about pop-up weddings already. They’re all the rage for people who want to stand out and surprise their families. Contrary to first glance, you still have to plan one. Here’s our take on them:
When it goes right, it can go really right. There’s evidence all over Pinterest and Buzzfeed filled with sweet stories about weddings in parks and on planes. And it’s a great way to save money, which we love. You can invite only the people you *really* want to be there and then attribute it to the fact that it was a total surprise to everyone. You can also vary the degree of surprise, too. It can be customized!
But it can also go wrong. There’s evidence all over Pinterest and Buzzfeed filled with sweet stories about weddings in parks and on planes. On the surface, it seems romantic and perfect, until your father doesn’t know to show up or the photographer brought all the wrong lenses for the shoot. Plan ahead, people!
The takeaway? Obviously, we are always of the mind that you should do what you want. Make sure to plan some aspects of this inherently unplanned wedding (photographer, inviting people that matter, not making a total nuisance of yourself, etc) to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Then, of course, let us know how it went!
