With this blog, we wanted to steer clear of being too cliché. But, when a majority of your Instagram feed is touting the return of the ever-popular pumpkin spice latte, we have to give credit where credit is due. Having a pumpkin spice themed wedding is just crazy enough to be awesome.
If you like pumpkin spice, here are some fall ideas to incorporate into your wedding:
This pretty much goes without saying. Add pumpkins to your decor. Do cute little chalk drawings or add them to your centerpieces. Step it up a notch by planning your wedding just a *little* closer to Halloween for full effect. 🙂
Classic Autumnal Colors
Think mustard and rust orange and burgundy. There’s a dark teal that’s trending right now (playing off of Pantone Lush Meadow: Fall 2016) that would go well with these classics. You should feel free to add it as an accent or even a main player with the others as an accent.
Yoga pants and bridesmaids
Please, no, not during the ceremony. But for the cute getting ready pictures, you can totally rock out the yoga pants and pumpkin spice latte theme to your heart’s content. Make sure to get all the pictures.
Hit your local dollar store and get mulling spice (or whatever good smells you love the most about fall) candles to burn in safe spots around your venue. The smell will instantly set the right tone to your party. Just remember that some are sensitive to smell, so try not to overdo it.
Target has a *ton* of blanket scarves this season, which means everyone has them. They’re super soft and magical. Grab a bunch on the cheap (wholesale?) and put them in baskets at the front of the reception hall for those guests that want a cozier experience.
Don’t actually hug the fire. Instead, find a lodge-type venue that has a large fireplace. Add s’more ingredients to your menu and you’ve got instant fall, not to mention an idea that none of your married friends have tried.
Since you love the idea of basing your theme on pumpkin spice, add it as a signature drink. In fact, you can find recipes here. If your guests want some variety, throw in some mulled cider and wine, or maybe hot chocolate.
