Hey everyone! We hope you are settling into the swing of things after the madness of Valentine’s Day. It’s one of our favorite holidays, but it can get a little hectic sometimes. Shew!
This week, we are pondering the caffeinated wedding. We know that serving alcohol seems to be a running theme, but this is a post for those of you that have a special place for coffee in your hearts.
Our best advice on having a latte bar at your reception? There are caterers that can do most of the labor for you. You can find a local catering company through Google (Yelp and TripAdvisor might also be helpful) and you’ll be on your way to worry-free coffee consumption in no time. Yes, it seems cool to have a self-serve latte bar, but it won’t have that same quality that a trained barista can give you. Plus, it will keep the kids away from the milk steamer and keep all possible molten milk-related disasters to a minimum.
If you think your guests will want an alcoholic option after all, go with a morning wedding and reception. You can serve mimosas or add a bit of Bailey’s to coffee-based drinks without a ton of guilt in a brunch setting. There are millions of cool favors and decorations to go with this kind of theme, too. Channel your best brunch vibes and go with a more chill (rather than formal) atmosphere. The above picture is from a wedding that we think pulled this method off perfectly.
If you’d rather DIY your own latte bar, here are a few links that we think will be really helpful for you:
- Going with a signature drink, because variables cost more.
- Building your own bar.
- Pretty much everything from this blog post.
- Chalkboard art to match your theme.
- Any of the food options from this list.
If you need more inspiration, check out this Pinterest search. It’s seriously got any variable possible listed there.
