Make Your Wedding Feel Like a Real Wonderland

Having a Disney princess inspired wedding is not a new thing – it has been trending for a while now and it’s completely understandable – many girls dream of a fairytale wedding since childhood. However, Alice in Wonderland is not a typical Disney princess story. It’s an unusual story about a little girl’s adventures in Wonderland. Really, it’s a no-brainer why organizing a wedding day inspired by this whimsical tale is such a hit.

From makeup to wedding cake to decorations, there are plenty of things you can do to make your wedding feel like a real Wonderland.

The bride in Wonderland

There are so many things you can do to make yourself feel like Alice – it could be your hair, your makeup, your dress, etc. If you happen to be blonde, then Alice’s subtle (and low-maintenance!) locks make a perfect hairstyle for your wedding day. But you don’t have to be blonde to pull this off. Simply top off your normal look with a cute bow headband and match it with Alice-inspired makeup. You can go bold with blue eyeshadow and get the whole look here. Or you can just do your lipstick Queen of Hearts style and keep the rest of your look neutral.

As for the dress, that iconic blue and white Alice dress isn’t really a bride’s first choice, but you can go along with the theme and make your dress pale blue with white details. Or, you can use Alice as an inspiration for your bridesmaids’ dresses to make sure you’re really going to get married in Wonderland.

Take your groom down the rabbit hole

If the bride-to-be’s look is going to be inspired by Alice, then the groom has to go along with the theme as well. Look at male characters in the book for inspiration. The Mad Hatter can be a lovely start, especially if you decide to draw inspiration from movies. Take Johnny Depp as an example. Hats are coming back to style recently, so your groom’s main accessory can be a nice top hat or something similar. Also, a pocket watch like the one White Rabbit has can be a nice addition to the groom’s overall look.

Fairytale is in the details

As for the decoration, the Alice theme offers plenty of possibilities. From vintage-looking wedding invitations labeled with read me to food plates labeled with eat me, any detail of your wedding can take your guests to Wonderland in no time.

Another cute idea for invitations is to make them look like playing cards – we all know how important they are in Alice in Wonderland book and movies. Furthermore, in the book, a tea party with Mad Hatter is the main event. You can turn your wedding day into one, as well! Decorate with teacups, pocket watches, and mirrors to make your venue look stunning.

You can get extra creative with cake and decorate with roses. White or red – the choice is all yours. As for the wedding favors, get creative. Tiny bottles filled with champagne or cocktails and labeled with “drink me” can be a nice memory for your guests.

And just like that, your wedding can become a talking point for many years if you pull the Alice theme right. Take good care of every detail and plan everything ahead, but don’t forget to have some fun as well. After all, that’s what weddings are all about, especially the ones inspired by a such a lovely, whimsical story.
